Considering the Catholic Faith? You’re Not Alone.

Whether you’ve never been baptized, were baptized in another Christian tradition, or are simply curious about Catholicism—RCIA is a journey of discovery, prayer, and belonging. At St Monica Parish, we walk with you every step of the way as you explore what it means to follow Christ as a Roman Catholic.

What Is RCIA?

RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. It’s the formal process by which adults are welcomed into the Catholic Church through:

  • Baptism (for those never baptized)
  • Or Profession of Faith (for those baptized in another Christian tradition)
  • Followed by First Communion and Confirmation

It’s not a class—it’s a spiritual journey guided by Scripture, Church teaching, prayer, and community.

How RCIA Works at St Monica Parish?

We use the trusted My Catholic Life! RCIA program, presented in three volumes:

  1. Catholic Beliefs
  2. Prayer & Sacraments
  3. Catholic Morality

Each session includes time for:

  • Prayer and reflection
  • Discussion of the weekly lesson
  • Sharing or listening to others’ experiences
  • Scripture readings and personal insights

When and Where?

Weekly gatherings begin in October and continue until Easter

By Easter, if you’re ready and feel called to move forward, you’ll be received into full communion with the Church in a beautiful, joy-filled celebration.

You Don’t Have to Have All the Answers

RCIA is about exploration, not pressure. It’s a space for honest questions, heartfelt seeking, and real relationships with others on a similar path. Some people enter with clear intent; others come just to see what it’s all about. Either way—you are welcome here.
