Confession & Reconciliation
St Monica Parish – Nepean
“His mercy endures forever.” — Psalm 136
God Is Ready to Welcome You Back
Confession—also known as the Sacrament of Reconciliation—is not about guilt, shame, or fear. It’s about coming home. God is always ready to forgive. He rejoices when we choose to turn away from sin and return to the life of grace and love that He created us for.
Through this sacrament, the weight of sin is lifted, the walls that separate us from God and others are broken down, and we begin again—freed, renewed, and embraced by divine mercy.
Why Confession Matters
Sin separates. But forgiveness heals.
When we confess our sins sincerely and with a desire to change, we receive not only forgiveness, but also grace—a deep, healing grace that strengthens us to grow in holiness and mercy.
As Jesus taught us, we are also called to forgive others as we ourselves are forgiven. Reconciliation with God often opens the door to reconciliation with others.
How to Go to Confession
Whether it’s been a month or many years, the Church is here to welcome you. The priest will guide you through the process gently. You don’t need to worry about having the “right words”—just come with a sincere heart.
