Proclaiming the Word: Lector Ministry

The Lector Ministry offers a meaningful opportunity to serve the parish by proclaiming the Word of God during weekday and weekend Masses. In addition to reading the First and Second Readings, lectors also deliver the opening greeting and lead the Prayers of the Faithful. Ideally, each Mass is supported by two lectors—one for the welcome and First Reading, and another for the Second Reading and intercessions.

Lectors are typically scheduled every 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the Mass time. New lectors receive a brief training session after Mass (about 30 minutes) and are paired with an experienced lector for their initial assignments to help build confidence and familiarity.
