Is the Sacristan Ministry Right for You?
– Ask Yourself These 5 Simple Questions
Who can serve?
Any committed, registered parishioner with a heart for service and the pastor’s approval is welcome to take on this meaningful role.
What does a Sacristan do?
Sacristans handle the behind-the-scenes preparation for our liturgical celebrations. They ensure that everything needed for Mass and other rites is in place and ready.
When are Sacristans needed?
Sacristans serve at most liturgical events, especially in preparing the Holy Eucharist for Mass. We also need sacristans who are available during the week or Saturday mornings to assist with Funeral Masses.
Why is this role important?
Sacristans help create a reverent and orderly environment so that every liturgy—from daily Mass to special celebrations—can be celebrated with dignity and grace.
